360VR Camera Rig for interior tours & drone flight

SkyeCam Studios 3D 360VR VR video and photo tours better than matterport in Baltimore MarylandSkyeCam Studios has a professional-level, 360 degree 6 camera-array set-up for spherical 360 video and photo capture. Our spherical rig captures 8K video and 50 megapixel photo-spheres.

We can fly the camera set-up by drone or we can bring it on ground in the house for a realistic immersive tour.

We perform better than Matterport as they charge Cloud fees, Cloud rendering fees, and Cloud hosting fees, which we do not. In addition, Matterport does not allow for 360 video, which we do beautifully.

With the ability to fly a 360 camera VR rig, we enable the user to look at anything they want as the camera is flying- a truly stunning sight to see to see an aerial view of.

Additionally, we are registered with Google Street View and can submit interior and exteriors as we are a Google Street View Trusted business.

All of the content we make is fully immersive – you can use it with a head-mounted display such as the Oculus Rift, the HTC Vive, Google Daydream, the Samsung Gear VR or something as simple as Google Cardboard.

We also do the full rendering experience for properties that are not built yet and are looking to presell, develop or advertise with our team of architects, interior designers and game designers. This content can also be viewed on a multitude of applications and even allows the user to change flooring options, wall colors, pick-up items, turn-on-off lights, or anything else you can dream of.

Check out our article for more information on our VR rendering process. You can contact our Baltimore, Maryland office at 443-470-9001.

Legal Drone Photography in Maryland

FAA 333 Approved Drone Company in Baltimore Maryland for hire

Our drone company Skye Cam Productions has received our FAA 333 Exemption, with our Pilots-in-command (PIC) maintaining either their FAA Remote Pilot Part 107 Certificate, or ratings for full-size aircraft. Our drones are all registered for commercial use, and we abide by all airspace rules and current regulations. This allows us to conduct drone photography operations commercially and legally in Baltimore, Maryland, as well as the rest of the United States.

As drone photography has become more prevalent across the United States, the FAA has developed guidelines that must be followed for any business to use an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) for any commercial gain.

These guidelines were developed to keep the national airspace safe while drones become more common for both hobbyists and businesses. With some close calls and injuries related to drone flight making it in the news lately, it is now more important than ever to make sure you are using qualified and legal professionals for any commercial drone photography job.

Here are a few videos that show what mistakes may lead to when a pilot is conducting a drone photography operation without proper safety protocols:

At SkyeCam Studios, we pride ourselves on safety and professionalism. We will always make sure we have a proper flight plan, are not flying over people not involved with the project, and have a spotter on site. This has allowed us to conduct dozens of commercial drone photography operations without a single issue. Our pilots have hundreds of hours of combined experience behind the controls of a variety of drones. We also maintain a minimum of $1,000,000 liability on our drone jobs in Maryland and the rest of the country.

When you are looking for qualified pilots to fly your commercial drone photography job in Baltimore, Maryland, and the rest of the U.S., make sure you are using pilots who are licensed. The license will show their commitment not only to safety, but also to quality of the work.

Feel free to browse our portfolio to see examples of some of our current work. We are always happy to answer any questions you may have about using a drone for your photography or videography needs. We hope to chat with you soon!

3D Renderings For Real Estate Developers

http://realestaterendering.com/resize/w630-h162/images/Real-Estate-Rendering-2g.jpgMany developers have been increasing the use of renderings for marketing and pre-sales over the past few years whether it’s in Seattle, Dallas or Baltimore. As they say, a picture is worth a 1000 words. You can tell buyers the home will have a beautiful view, with high end features, etc. But without a picture, buyers will typically wait until construction is complete, which means more money out of pocket for the developer, longer exposure to the ever-changing real estate market, and slower turn over rates.

3-D renderings allow buyers to imagine themselves in the home much more than a floorplan could; along with allowing customers from overseas to view the property from the comfort of their own home. Letting potential buyers “see the home” before the home is ever built can lead to presale opportunities which reduces the financing costs and increases profits. Therefore, an architecture rendering is one of the best tools that can be used to capture clients’ attention.

With 3-D renderings, buyers can form an emotional connection to the home and visualize what it would be like living in the home. While home buyers may eventually find a home they could learn to live with, giving them a vision of their dream home is priceless. A potential buyer could see for themselves the home made to their needs. The flexibility of our renderings lets buyers create a home they would love. If a potential buyer wants to see how the home could look with bamboo flooring or different color hardwood floors, or even what different paint colors will look like; a developer using 3-D renderings could give the buyers those visions, rather than losing potential clients to the next developer’s model home.

While developers can better pre-sell homes with 3-D renderings, sellers agents can also awaken a potential buyer’s imagination to what a home could look like after a $30,000 to $50,000 remodel, turning that dated 1970’s rambler into a beautiful modern home. And finally, for home owners it can save hours of stress going back and forth to stores trying to figure out how all the elements come together. 3-D renderings therefore can be a great investment of money and time.

Use Aerial Photos to Create a 3D Model of Your Home

Aerial Photography Company Uses Drone To Create 3d Printed House For Real Estate

Here at SkyeCam Studios, we stay cutting edge by flying the newest drone technology available. We have made it easy and affordable for homeowners and real estate agents alike to have beautiful aerial photos of their properties. Photographing properties from angles that are physically impossible to achieve with ground-based photography, capturing entire landscapes in one aerial photograph, and even surveying the roofs of houses are some examples of why people hire us instead of ground-based photographers. What’s more, our aerial photography services are more efficient and significantly less expensive than helicopter-based aerial photographers, and we can vary our altitude as low as four feet to as high as 1000+ feet. Most of the time, when taking aerial photos of a house, we only need to fly at 100 to 200 feet, an altitude where helicopters can’t even fly safely.

The next step…

Today, we are proud to announce a new technology along with our standard aerial photographic services. We now offer 3D printed representations of the aerial photographs our drone captures. Some of our clients were giving our aerial photographs of their houses as gifts to family members for special occasions. Now, with our 3D printing service, we are offering our customers an even more custom and innovative way to showcase their homes. A 3D printed representation is an accurate portrayal that you can hold and cherish for years to come.

How do we accomplish this?

This process is accomplished first by taking several hundred high-resolution aerial photographs from our drone, which is made easier by the fact that our camera is fully independent from the drone and stabilized. Most aerial photographs from other companies have a blurred quality from the drones’ rotors spinning and moving the camera. We take pride in the fact that even our raw footage looks like it came from a ground-based dolly or jib. The aerial photographs are then taken back to our studio where we stitch and render them together. The rendered product is a full 3D representation that can then be sent through our 3D printer. We use ABS plastic material and can choose from a variety of colors. Our 3D printer is a dual-extruder type so we can print two colors at once. After the print is complete, we then can paint the model to real life detail. The houses can be built up to 9x6x6 inches and can go even bigger by printing in halves and gluing them together.

Our future…

As far as we know, we are the first to offer this service combining two new technologies: drone aerial photography and 3D printing. This product is something that can be purchased as an add-on for our services and is not only a fun gift for homeowners, but also a great product for developers. We only need about a week from your date of booking our aerial photography services to create a final 3D printed representation of your home. We hope to be your next stop for aerial photography and 3D printing.

Film your Wedding by Drone

Drone Used To Film Wedding Photography Company For Hire

Weddings are a once in a lifetime event. Instead of taking photographs by hiring a camera man to walk around awkwardly bumping into guests, brides and grooms can now give their guests room to breathe by taking photographs with a faraway flying device. Wedding drone videography uses these flying cameras, or “drones,” to capture video and still photography in high resolution and to obtain camera angles and elevation that are impossible to achieve from the ground. Gone are the days of one dimensional wedding production and in are the days of infinite aerial possibilities with SkyeCam Studios drone operators based in Baltimore, Maryland.

Positive news…

The Federal Aviation Administration (the “FAA”) and the media have cast a shadow on the world of wedding drone videography, leaving many soon-to-be brides uncertain about hiring wedding drone videography. Fortunately, the news is very positive. Earlier this year, the FAA fined Raphael Pirker, a student at University of Virginia, $10,000 for using a Styrofoam built drone to take aerial footage of her college campus for an advertisement. Pirker appealed to the National Transport and Safety Board. A federal judge quickly dismissed the case in favor of Pirker because the FAA never went through the proper channels to codify into federal law a policy that it had established in 2007 prohibiting the use of drones for commercial purposes. Additionally, many of the FAA regulations do not apply to small model airplanes and similar craft used by drone hobbyists because the FAA has never defined these types of aircrafts as traditional aircrafts.

Our future…

Seeing as the FAA has not yet established regulations to cover the drones we use in our wedding drone videography, we are able to film your wedding by drone. Anyone planning a wedding in the near future in Hawaii or the East Coast via our Baltimore office should contact us today for a quote!

Benefits of Aerial Photography for Real Estate in Maryland

Baltimore Maryland Aerial Photography Shot With Drone By Skycam Studios

As the modern home-buyer has evolved into a digital shopper, with statistics from ‘Digital House Hunt’indicating that 90% of home buyers have searched online during the home buying process and 28% have used their mobile phones, it is very clear that high quality photography is an essential component to selling real estate.

Benefits in the Air

Unfortunately regular ground photography is incapable of showcasing luxury property to its highest potential. For years real estate agents have patched this issue by resorting to aerial photography services reliant upon helicopter and small aircraft. Not only is this option very impractical economically but additionally the photographs and video taken are limited by poor stabilization, elevation and space inflexibility (these types of aircraft are incapable of flying at low altitudes and over certain terrain) and time. The birth of the drone has resolved the main issues with aerial photography for real estate by providing higher quality photography and video at a fraction of the cost of the previously available services.

Minutes to Takeoff

Within minutes of arriving at the location of a house, the drone can be airborne, perform multiple takes of a shot without being constrained by a limited fuel time, and reach any angle or altitude desired by the agent. Maryland is a place of beauty with homes that deserve to be showcased properly. We are able to travel nationwide.

Indoor Drone Photography in Maryland

Indoor Photography In Baltimore Maryland Using Aerial Drones From Skyecam Studios

With the newest additions to our Baltimore drone fleet, SkyeCam Studios now has the ability to safely perform indoor aerial drone flights for both photos and video. Our drones have the ability to shoot sonic waves to the ground, which in addition of a downward facing camera help to map out the area below for safe flying indoors. This has previously been impossible to achieve safety as previous drone models rely on satellite signals to navigate with and they do not function well indoors.

The Technology

We have a fleet of these drones in Baltimore, Maryland ready to fly both indoors and outdoors. An example of drone use indoors is a video mapping out a home or a commercial real estate location. The shots are silky smooth as the camera is fully independent and stabilized. All video is filmed in Ultra HD, also known as 4K. The advantage of flying indoors is that we can position a camera at any angle.

Indoor Ground Photography Service

Additionally, another dual option service we have not previously mentioned on the website, but have frequently provided for real estate clients is indoor real estate photography. These indoor images of the property are captured with a high quality ground camera separate from the drone, all during the same visit to the home. We are able to your one stop shop providing real estate services room to room as well as drone exteriors.

Aerial Cinematography: Our Experience in Drone TV Production

Aerial Cinematography Shot By Skycam Productions

Slowly and steadily drones are transcending helicopters, dollies, and other traditional models of simulated flight in the world of aerial cinematography. The economic feasibility, camera angle flexibility and rapid setup time of drones prove them to be the real winner in TV and film production.

The Plot

We recently had the honor of filming with Discovery Communications’ “American Hero’s Channel” (previously titled the Military Channel). The journey began in rural Gettysburg, Pennsylvania set in a backdrop of heavy forest in order to mimic the dense jungle environment present in Vietnam during the war. The plot of the shoot revolved around an American helicopter hero pilot who provided crucial medical aid and advanced recon that aided in the rescue of a group of American soldiers caught in the thick of battle.

New Technologies

With our drone and the addition of heavy duty fans we were able to emulate the idea of a moving helicopter hovering and delivering medical supplies to American soldiers. The producer will take the footage and use a blue screen to sell the viewer the idea that it is identical. This set would have been impossible to replicate using a real helicopter for reasons of safety due to the heavy foliage present and exponentially more expensive with a production level dolly or jib. Another important advantage the drone has in production is that most multi-rotor flying cameras do not require gas, instead rely on rechargeable batteries that are capable of being switched out within a moment’s time allowing multiple retakes with ease. Oftentimes the sound recorded on a set is important to maintain and a drone is considerably less noisy than a helicopter. Because the drone is wirelessly transmitting the video feed to LCD monitors on the ground, the producer is able to frame the desired shot precisely as he or she desires.

Our Future

We eagerly anticipate our next adventure in the world of aerial cinematography as the world of drones take effect.
